Intro  To Mahjong

Foundations is our signature beginner class designed to teach the essentials of American Mahjong in a fun, approachable setting. During this three-hour session, you'll learn tile recognition, how to read the NMJL card, basic hand-building strategies, and the fundamentals of gameplay. By the end of class, you'll have the confidence and knowledge needed to sit down and play your first game. All materials are provided. Limited to eight students per instructor. 

Mahj 101

 introduces the flow and strategy of American Mahjong through hands-on instruction and guided game play. You'll learn how to build and break the wall, navigate the Charleston with confidence, and understand how each phase of the game works together. Through instructor-led games and practical experience, you'll begin developing the skills and strategic thinking needed to play with greater confidence and independence.

IF YOU JUST LEARNED THE BASICS BUT NEED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE RULES, PRACTICE PLAY, AND INCREASE YOUR CONFIDENCE, THIS SESSION WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE DETAILS OF THE NMJL RULES AND REINFORCE THE BASICS FROM YOUR FIRST LESSON.

CLASS SIZE IS SMALL.

Open Play

Experience the joy of Mahjong in a social setting. Open Play is an opportunity to gather with fellow players for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and friendly competition. Designed for those who already know the basics of the game, these sessions are all about community, camaraderie, and the simple pleasure of time spent around the table.
