Hi, I'm Julie...
I believe the best moments in life happen around a table—where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and laughter comes easily.

After years of building communities through business, travel, events, and women's leadership organizations, I discovered that Mahjong brings together everything I love: connection, conversation, lifelong learning, and a little friendly competition.

My fascination with Mahjong started over 20 years ago when I watched women playing it a club while I was having a business lunch.  The intrigue never went away and in 2025, I finally had the time and found a way to learn... and it's been full throttle ever since!  I was all in - so now I am committed to building a community in the town I have called home for the majority of my life - Punta Gorda! 

As the founder of Traveling Tiles, I help women learn American Mahjong in a welcoming, approachable environment. Whether you're sitting down at your very first lesson or joining a social game night, my goal is simple: to make Mahjong fun, accessible, and something you genuinely look forward to each week.

When I'm not teaching Mahjong, you'll find me spending time with family, planning travel adventures, enjoying a good book with a cup of coffee (or wine), exploring new destinations, walking my dog,  spending time on the water in Southwest Florida, or gathering friends around a table for meaningful conversation.

I created Traveling Tiles because I believe Mahjong is about so much more than the tiles. It's about building community, keeping our minds sharp, creating new friendships, and making time for joy.
